Install Clementine Music Player on Ubuntu

Clementine is a multi-platform music library manager. It is forked from Amarok, the KDE media manager, but is independent from this desktop environment. This howto ease its installation on Ubuntu.

This how-to is tested on:

  • Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander

Installation

Install the software:

sudo bash -c 'command add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine;
command apt-get update;
command apt-get -y install clementine'

Installation details

Add the software repository to apt configuration:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine

Update the available packages list:

sudo apt-get update

Install the software latest version:

sudo apt-get install clementine

A recent version of Clementine is now available on the system.
